AE Post-Reflection

It was interesting writing this AE.  It was a good bit different from most of the writing I've done, especially for school, since I actually got to put a lot of my own voice and my own experiences in it without going "Aw crap, this isn't gonna fly".  A lot of it was written while chatting with a couple online friends while they played games and I worked, so through most of the writing process I got to feel like "Oh yeah, I am perpetuating exactly what I'm talking about here".

I really enjoyed being able to talk about something that was really dear to me, even if it's something that's kind of simple (in my mind).  By having something that I was personally invested in, I was able to really push myself through while writing.  Conversely, I think the hardest part of this, and I'm honestly not sure I did it too well, was interweaving the academic research into the paper smoothly.  There's a bit of a jarring difference between the personal aspect and the research aspect, and that's definitely something I'll need to work on in the future just by going at it again and again.

I wouldn't say there was anything that made me uncomfortable while writing this AE, other than the stiffness of my desk chair.  I chose a pretty "safe" topic in all regards.

  1. Nice reflection, Eos! I like how you were talking with your online friends while writing!
